Instead of giving our Editor a list of favorite recordings last time I gave a list of the most recent pop/rock/blues concerts I had attended. The not-so-well-hidden sub agenda was to encourage folks to get out and hear the music as often as possible and to be sure to protect themselves from sometimes dangerous sound pressure levels they may be exposed to when they attend these kinds of events when professional PA systems are employed.
I concentrate on pop events because symphony orchestra doesn't subject the audience to high sound pressure and many more qualified folks have reported on the acoustics of those spaces. I attend Orchestra Hall in Detroit fairly ...
