Jul. 15--Minnesota has the potential in existing industries to become a player in three emerging and specialized high-tech industries, a report from Minnesota Technology Inc. says.
Their technologies -- nanotechnology, biocatalysis and bioinformatics -- all build on the state's existing industries, the study "Our Competitive Nature: Minnesota's Technology Economy" shows.
Nanotechnology draws on advanced manufacturing methods to fabricate devices as small as individual molecules or atoms. The technology could lead to a new generation of products and materials assembled from the ground up.
