Jul. 15--PEOPLE: Sheryl Johnson has joined the staff of the Hampton Inn Hotel, 1755 S. Broadway, as a sales manager. She has a bachelor's degree in mass communication/advertising, with a minor in business from South Dakota State University in Brookings.

AT THEIR FINGERTIPS: A new business -- Top Ten Nails -- is scheduled to open in Northbrook Shopping Center in "about a month or so," according to shopping center manager Jan Goossens.

Northbrook recently had an H&R Block office move out, and China Garden buffet is closing to be replaced with Fiesta Mexicana.
