Jul. 5--Boon Rawd Trading Co, the marketing arm of Boon Rawd Brewery, has stopped distributing imported liquor brands including Japan's Suntory as the business has not performed to expectations.
The move follows the company's loss of rights to distribute Suntory, its main brand, after the Japanese company decided to handle marketing itself, given the rising popularity of the whisky, particularly the Red label version.
A source at Boon Rawd Trading yesterday confirmed that its imported liquor department had been closed and that all 45 employees would be laid off by the end of this month.
