Jul. 4--Com-Link, one of the front-runners for the 15-billion-baht CDMA mobile-phone project, has pulled out of the contest, citing tough bidding conditions as obstacles to business viability.

Com-Link was among 15 groups of local and foreign companies that bought bidding documents from the Communications Authority of Thailand.

Bids are due to be submitted by July 15.

Siritaj Rojanapruk, Com-Link's chief executive, said the company decided to pull out after a joint study with its partner, Samsung, showed the project was not viable. Conditions in the terms of reference were the main obstacle.
