United States-Based Kohler to Buy Major Stake in Thai Sanitaryware Company.

Jul. 4--Major shareholders of Karat Sanitaryware Plc have agreed to sell an 80.7 percent stake in the company to United States-based Kohler Co at 40.11 baht per share.

Karat, one of the largest sanitaryware makers in Asia, said the decision to sell 38 million shares to the international manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom products, as well as home furnishings, was made on Tuesday.

Those shedding their holdings include Somkiart Limsong, a former chief executive of Siam City Cement Plc, who is selling 11.8 million shares, 24.9 percent of total, to Kohler.
