Jul. 3--The Transport and Communications Ministry says a holding company must be set up to formulate investment policy for the two state telecom agencies, to avoid competition and duplication of investments when they are corporatised.

The Telephone Organisation of Thailand and Communications Authority of Thailand, are to be transformed into TOT Corporation, CAT Telecom and Thailand Post under the state's proposed corporatisation scheme.

The establishment of the holding firm would be completed by August, said Srisook Chantharangsu, permanent secretary of the ministry and chairman of the committee in charge of forming the companies.
