Jul. 3--Thai Army shops and those owned by co-operatives are interested in joining Allied Retail Trade Co, the state-initiated company that will operate Thai franchise outlets tasked with strengthening small-scale local retailers and their product suppliers.
Lt-Gen Samrerng Pinklang, a special adviser to the Royal Thai Army who supervises the military's PX Services shops, told Newin Chidchob, a deputy commerce minister, that the Army's welfare shops were interested in the new concept.
Mr Newin said the Army wanted to have the new type of shop, known as AR Thai outlets, at all 60 Army locations nationwide.
