Jul. 3--The recent appreciation of the baht against the US dollar will not undermine economic growth, according to M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, the governor of the Bank of Thailand.
He said the baht had appreciated together with currencies of other major trade competitors. At the same time, the baht had weakened against the yen and the euro, making exports to Japan and Europe more competitive.
"The strengthening of all regional countries was a result of the weakening dollar," M.R. Pridiyathorn said.
