Jul. 2--The Commerce Ministry yesterday revised its forecast annual inflation rate downward for the second time this year, to 1 percent as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), mainly due to the stronger baht.
The Internal Trade Department first revised the CPI in April, to between 1 percent and 1.5 percent , due largely to the fall in prices of goods and the stronger baht. Its original forecast had been for inflation of between 1.8 percent and 2 percent .
