Aug. 5--The Government Savings Bank plans to launch a new credit card next year with a target of issuing 200,000 cards by 2004, according to director-general Charnchai Musignisarkorn.
The plan, part of a broader policy to expand the state bank's presence in the retail market, must first be approved by the bank's board and the Finance Ministry.
Dr Charnchai said the new credit card would be issued in partnership with a major Japanese finance institution, although he declined to offer details.
