Aug. 5--H&Q Asia Pacific plans to increase its fund investments by $500 million in the region over the next 12 months.
Virapan Pulges, the managing director of venture capital firm H&Q (Thailand), said the increased investments were likely to focus on IT and electronics firms in South Korea, China and Japan.
The H&Q Asia Pacific fund currently has an investment size of $1.8 billion. Investments by the fund in Thai companies total around $80 million.
Mr Virapan said many US and European firms had shifted their manufacturing bases to Asia to reduce fixed costs.
