Performance Food Group Buys Rock Island, Ill.-Based Distributor.

Jul. 27--Performance Food Group of Richmond has bought Thoms-Proestler Co., a Midwestern food-service distributor.
The purchase, announced yesterday, was for $95 million in cash, stock and assumed liabilities.
Thoms-Proestler, a privately owned company based in Rock Island, Ill., is a full-service broadline distributor. It serves customers, including restaurants and health-care facilities, in Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois, including the Chicago area.
The company had sales of $230 million last year compared with Performance Food Group's $3.2 billion.
