Jul. 22--IBM Rochester cut "a small number" of employees -- estimated at fewer than 50 -- last week.
IBM spokesman Tim Dallman said the employees were notified of the layoff in July, which he described as a routine "work rebalancing." He said the cut affects one half of 1 percent of the total site work force. The Rochester site had 5,000 employees at the end of 2001.
