Singapore-Based Travel Company Aims for Thailand Dominance.

Sep. 4--Abacus International, Asia-Pacific's largest provider of travel distribution and reservation systems, aims to become the leader in Thailand within the next three years.
Currently, the Singapore-based company dominates all the markets in Southeast Asia, except in Thailand where Amadeus, in which Thai Airways International is a shareholder, leads the local industry.
Vutti Trichaisri, managing director of Abacus Distribution Systems (Thailand), said that the number of Thai travel agents subscribing to the Abacus system had increased by 60 percent since 1999.
