Siam City Bank to Launch Bancassurance by End of This Year.

Sep. 2--Siam City Bank plans to launch bancassurance products by the end of the year as part of a broader policy to boost fee-based income.
Angkana Swasdipoon, SCIB's senior vice-president, said the bank's nationwide network of 369 branches offered considerable opportunities to cross-sell different financial products.
By 2003, the bank hopes to double the ratio of fee-based income to overall income to 12 percent, in line with industry averages. For this year, the bank expects fee-based income to stand at one billion baht, nearly four times last year's level but still representing just 6-7 percent of total income.
