Oct. 5--Commerce Minister Adisai Bodharamik has pledged to go ahead with the ministry's plans to reform the retail business despite the loss of Newin Chidchob, the deputy who had been handling the issue.
Mr Newin was named deputy agriculture minister in Thursday's cabinet reshuffle.
"Mr Newin has made a lot of progress in addressing issues in the retail sector, particularly in the proposed Retail Law, to protect suppliers and small family-run businesses from unfair practices by the giant discount stores," Dr Adisai said yesterday.
