Oct. 5--New Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit has pledged to give priority to ensuring that Suvarnabhumi International Airport opens on time in 2005.
Speaking yesterday at a farewell ceremony at the Industry Ministry, Mr Suriya said Bangkok's second international airport, located at Nong Ngu Hao in Samut Prakan, was a matter of great importance.
Every effort would be made to achieve completion of construction on schedule as the new airport -- first proposed in the 1960s -- would be a key element in establishing Thailand's competitiveness.
