Oct. 4--The German airline Lufthansa is poised to take advantage of the influx of European tourists to Thailand expected in the coming peak winter holiday season, by increasing the number of flights to Bangkok.
The number of additional flights would depend on aircraft availability and market demand, said Manfred Reimer, the airline's vice-president for the Asia-Pacific region.
Last winter, the airline operated 30 additional flights to Bangkok, on top of the 10 weekly flights of its Boeing 747s.
This year, Lufthansa expects to have an average load factor of 80 percent, up from 79 percent last year.
