Oct. 3--Thai Airways International's fuel bills last month increased by 2.7 billion baht as a result of a rise in prices from 70 to 80 US cents a gallon.
While the price was expected to reach 90 cents a gallon this month, the impact on the national carrier was manageable, said M.R. Supadis Diskul, the executive vice-president for business development and support.
Every fuel-price increase of one cent per gallon adds about 270 million baht to the airline's operating cost.
THAI has budgeted 27 billion baht this year for its fuel, based on an exchange rate of 45 baht to the US dollar.
