Oct. 2--Thai Preserved Food Factory, the marketer of Wai Wai instant noodles, plans to become an integrated food producer taking on its arch-rival Saha Pathanapibul, the maker of Mama instant noodles.
Announcing the plan yesterday, the company said it would produce and sell many food products, particularly in categories that could generate about five billion baht a year.
Initially, the company plans to make canned and ready-to-eat food, with the objective of capturing market shares of 10 percent to 20 percent in each category that it enters.
