Oct. 2--Hong Kong-based Tan Chong International has bought all the shares in Nissan Diesel (Thailand) Co (NDT) to strengthen its business and boost truck sales.
K. Onishi, NDT's executive vice-president, said Tan Chong bought the shares from Nissan Diesel Motor Co of Japan for about US$35 million on Monday.
NDT was formerly owned by Nissan Diesel Motor, Marubeni of Japan and the Siam Motors Group, but the Japanese truck maker acquired its partners' stakes earlier this year.
