Oct. 2--Contractors will face difficulty if the Commerce Ministry bows to cement producers' demands for product price increases, according to Yanyong Kosavanond, deputy secretary-general of the Thai Contractors' Association.
He said that contractors, who normally agreed on fixed charges with their customers, would have no choice but absorb any price increases.
As well, he said, almost all cement plants had stopped offering discounts to contractors and distributors since demand had increased, adding to their construction costs.
