Oct. 1--The Commerce Ministry has claimed success in enlarging the proportion of exports to new markets to 33.5 percent of total revenue in the first eight months of this year, compared with 30 percent in the same period last year.
The ministry had sought a budget from the Export Development Fund to pursue a three-year plan, starting this year, to increase the ratio of exports in new markets to 40 percent, compared with 60 percent for conventional markets. A budget of 1.1 billion baht was allocated for this year, and 1.8 billion baht for next year.
