Due to lower costs of servicing public debt, the Finance Ministry has raised to ZL21.8bn its subsidy for the Social Security Fund, from which the Social Security Office (ZUS) makes pension and disability benefit payments. In line with the budget bill, the Finance Minister had to make the move, as budgetary savings connected with servicing public debt are reserved for ZUS and cannot be used, for instance, to decrease the budget deficit.
