Nov. 5--Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit yesterday insisted that the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) must be corporatised to improve its efficiency.

However, he said the original corporatisation deadline would be postponed indefinitely until protesting PAT employees could be won over to the idea.

The PAT had been scheduled to register as a business and offer shares to the public early next year.

"We have to discuss with National Finance, the financial adviser, the scope of implementation to help us understand the necessity and suitability of corporatisation," said Mr Suriya.
