Nov. 5--Thai Airways International is looking at the possibility of offering a "no-frills" low-cost service on its long-haul flights like Australian Airlines to appeal to price-conscious passengers.
The national carrier has appointed a subcommittee to conduct a feasibility study on whether it was viable to add the low-cost service with no hot meals or snacks, said president Kanok Abhiradee.
"Although THAI is a traditional type of carrier, I'm closely monitoring the service of Australian Airlines, which calls itself a low-cost carrier, offering intercontinental flights at low costs," Mr Kanok said.
