Nov. 2--Malaysia has dropped an investigation into alleged dumping of carbon black from Thailand, Korea and India, according to the Foreign Trade Department.
Malaysia's Ministry of Trade and Industry began the investigation after receiving complaints from local manufacturers of carbon black, used in the production of tyres. Investigators examined information and interviewed Thai exporters, said Rachane Potjanasonthorn, the department's director-general.
The Malaysian authorities concluded that carbon black had not been sold in Malaysia at prices below cost and terminated the investigation, he said.
