Nov. 1--Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc (SSI) expects sales growth in the final quarter of the year to rise by 4 percent from the third quarter, increasing its total steel output for the year to two million tonnes, the highest level since the company's inception in 1993.

President Sittichai Thiensathaporn said the company expected to produce and sell up to 550,000 tonnes of cold-rolled steel in the fourth quarter, which would represent 60 percent growth over the same period last year.

He said the company expected a net profit close to 1.47 billion baht, close to the figure recorded in the third quarter.
