WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- U.S. Representative Charlie Norwood, R-Ga., underwent a successful single-lung transplant, his office said Tuesday.

Norwood was in 'critical' condition Tuesday night - a standard condition for someone who has undergone such a major surgery. He will reportedly 2-to-3 weeks at Virginia's Inova Fairfax Hospital before returning to his apartment in Washington. His office said Norwood anticipates resuming normal Congressional duties in approximately three months.
