Oct. 4--The Aromatics (Thailand) plc, a petrochemical subsidiary of PTT Plc, plans to invest about 29 billion baht to expand its production complex in Rayong, mainly to boost output of paraxylene to meet rising global demand.

The proposed expansion has received maximum promotional privileges from the Board of Investment consisting of a duty exemption on machinery imports and an eight-year corporate income tax exemption.

Under the plan, annual production of paraxylene will be raised by 565,000 tonnes, benzene by 300,690 tonnes, toluene by 60,000 tonnes, reformate by 290,000 tonnes, naphtha and heavy aromatics by 16,810 tonnes and liquefied petroleum gas ...
