Nov. 6--Three tenants in the Baan Nung Thai (Thai Film House) building have sought the right to continue their business after a court ordered the compound demolished because its owner had failed to pay rent for four years.
The petitioners are The Forte shop, the Poyoichiban Japanese restaurant and the Rioja Spanish restaurant.
Attakavi Co, the owner of the land in Sukhumvit Soi 24, had filed a lawsuit in the Southern Bangkok Civil Court against Mee Baramee Entertainment Co, owner of the building managed by former singing star Sakesan Chaicharoen, claiming it had failed to pay land rent for four years.
