Dec. 5--Only modest support has been found for Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's proposal to move clocks in the Kingdom forward an hour to improve the country's economic competitiveness, according to a survey that was released yesterday.
The research, conducted by the National Statistical Office, found just 42.8 percent of businessmen agreed with the idea, while only 41.4 percent of the public gave their thumbs up to the proposed time shift.
Among the 2,000 businessmen polled for the survey, 40.2 percent disagreed and 17 percent abstained. Disagreement and hesitancy were stronger still among the 1,000 members of the public interviewed, 30.7 percent ...
