Dec. 4--Provincial businessmen have confidence in the future of the economy, but believe the government must tackle unemployment, declining agricultural prices and rising crime if the economy is to stay on course, according to a new survey by the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
Thanavath Pholvichai, director of the Economic and Business Forecasting Centre of the Thai Chamber of Commerce University which carried out the survey, said businessmen outside of Bangkok felt there would be an improvement in the economy next year, with many expecting a minimum expansion of 3.6 percent.
