Dec. 4--Uni-President Enterprises Corporation (Upec), the Taiwanese food and beverage firm, has set its sights on becoming a major player in Thailand's fast-growing ready to drink tea market, with the launch of a new natural green-tea brand, Cha Li Won.
Currently estimated to be worth 543 million baht, the ready-to-drink tea market in Thailand had grown at a staggering rate of 74 percent in the last 12 months and would probably reach one billion baht by the end of 2003, said Tezen Yang, Upec's beverage business group director.
