Chinese Prosperity Will Benefit Regional Economy, Businessman Says.

Dec. 2--A wealthy and economically developed China can only mean benefits for Southeast Asia and the region, according to Dhanin Chearavanont, chairman and chief executive of the CP Group.

"During the next 10 years, if only 10 percent of the [Chinese] population would reach the income level of Japan, China's internal market demand would reach that of Japan," he said.

"And if 20 percent of the population reached the income level of the United States, China's purchasing power would exceed that of the US."
