A Hungarian computer game that has proved a hot seller in Germany over the summer may provide a new impetus for Hungary's game developers, says a top executive of the company that produced the game. The game, entitled "Codename: Panzers, Phase One," was released in June 2004, and climbed to the top of the bestseller list in its first week in Germany, keeping that position for eight weeks. Panzers - a real-time strategic (RTS) game - was developed by Budapest-based Stormregion Kft. "We were overtaken by Doom 3 in recent weeks, but now Doom's sales are stagnating, so we expect Panzers back at the top," says operations director Balazs Weibel, referring to a rival game developed by Texas firm id Software. …
