Opposition proposes comprehensive chicken farms against bird flu.

Section: General News - An opposition MP has suggested that the government should build comprehensive chicken farms to raise fowls so that all the country's poultry is kept in closed enclosures to help prevent another outbreak of bird flu.

The government must urgently find strategies to revive Thailand's chicken industry, the Democrat MP Tripon Chorchit from Nakhon Si Thammarat said, otherwise Thailand won't be able to compete with other countries.

A closed farming system could help improved the situation, along with other measures, to eradicate avian flu throughout the country, Mr. Trpon said.
