Oct. 5--Swensen's (Thai) Co has invested 100 million baht to give its Swensen's ice cream chain outlets a facelift with a new, trendy look intended to capture younger consumers.
The renovations are part of an effort to stay competitive in the premium ice cream segment worth 1.5 billion baht, in which Swensen's claims a 90 percent share.
Choompot Tantisoonthorn, the general manager of Swensen's (Thai), part of Minor Food Group Plc said competition in the premium and mid-range segments had become increasingly aggressive with the emergence of new brands and promotional strategies by existing players.
