Oct. 5--The government believes it can keep the price of gasohol 50 satang below the price of regular petrol in order to promote wider use by motorists, despite complaints about rising production costs.
Energy planners yesterday rejected an Industry Ministry proposal that the levy on gasohol paid to the state oil fund be waived in order to improve the margin on the alternative fuel.
The oil fund, which relies on levies on all types of motor fuels, has spent about 30 billion baht subsidising retail fuel costs this year.
Gasohol is blended from 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline and is subject to an oil ...
