Oct. 1--People in Thailand are among the most proactive in the region in taking precautionary medical checkups and screening for cancer, but they are the least financially protected against critical illness, according to a survey by American International Assurance (AIA).
The survey shows that 53 percent of Thais have annual checkups. However, only 10 percent are actually insured against critical illness compared with 56 percent in Singapore, 41 percent in Hong Kong and 35 percent in Malaysia.
