Oct. 1--Thai businesses, which no longer enjoy a marked advantage over rivals from other countries in terms of production costs, need to pursue product and service innovation in order to stay competitive, according to an international consulting firm.

Holding a competitive edge in terms of costs only works over the short run while innovation leads to sustainable long-term growth, said Andrew Sng, senior partner for Asia of US-based Decision Processes International (DPI).
