Stone & Webster, Foxboro to co-market expert system. (Stone and Webster Engineering Corp. Stone and Webster Advanced Systems Development Services; Foxboro Co.)
Stone & Webster Advanced Systems Development Services (Boston, MA), a developer of expert system applications, and The Foxboro Co. (Foxboro, MA), a supplier of advanced systems, instruments and services for industrial process automation and real-time information management, have agreed to cooperate on a non-exclusive basis in marketing the Recovery Boiler Advisor software. The Recovery Boiler Advisor is Stone & Webster's real-time expert system for monitoring Kraft black liquor recovery boilers used in the pulp and paper industry. The system, which runs on either the DEC VAX or Sun platforms, continuously monitors boiler data to reach conclusions and recommendations during abnormal operating conditions.
