Oct. 2--Lt Gen Lertrit Vejsawan yesterday took the helm of the army-run Channel 5, becoming the station's fifth head in the past one year, amid continuing controversy over its listing plan for broadcasting arm RTA Entertainment and the allocation of its airtime.
As the new director of Royal Thai Army Radio and Television, Lt Gen Lertrit succeeds Lt Gen Chatree Pattanaphan, who took office in July and announced a clear plan to clear up controversy surrounding the station. Lt Gen Chatree has been transferred to the Office of the Supreme Command.
