Mistakes in the first year of Thai-China trade need to be addressed.

Oct. 1--Thailand placed itself at a disadvantage in the early stages of its free trade area (FTA) agreement with China and is now making a clumsy attempt to seek remedial measures for its fruit and vegetable sector, industry leaders said yesterday.
Sing Ching Tongdee, the president of the Thai Fresh Fruit Traders and Exporters Association, questioned the wisdom of the government in rushing into the FTA despite a lack of preparedness by authorities as well as farmers and exporters.
