Oct. 1--Amway (Thailand), the country's largest direct-sales firm, may stand to benefit from increased concern over human-to-human transmission of bird flu, with sales likely to pickup for products related to personal hygiene and health care.

"Bird flu might affect the country's economy, but it will also encourage people to pay closer attention to their personal hygiene and also their health," said Preecha Prakobkit, managing director of Amway (Thailand), part of US-based Alticor Inc.
