Oct. 1--Siemens of Germany plans to continue expanding its emerging mobile solutions business, with the aim of balancing its hardware and solutions sales revenue within five years.
Peter Klimt, the newly appointed executive vice-president for Siemens' information and mobile communications division, said non-hardware sales were being boosted by growing demand from business, particularly in Asia.
"Siemens recognises that selling hardware [handsets and infrastructure networks] alone will not lead us to become a global player," said Mr Klimt.
