Back in the good ol' boys club of the ancient Olympics, circa 776 B.C., women were not permitted to participate.... So 16 Greek women started their own version of the Olympics called the Herea Games, after the Greek goddess, Hera...." Several U.S. women's teams were doing well, observed USA Today. "All owe a nod to the pioneers" of the Herea Games ... as well as to the equalities afforded because of Title IX."
