UK airlines cancelled flights to Florida last night as Hurricane Frances bore down on the sunshine state.

Thomas Cook Airlines cancelled two UK-Orlando flights due to depart today and another UK-Orlando flight tomorrow.

British Airways' flight from Heathrow to Grand Cayman today will not be stopping at Nassau in the Bahamas.

Other airlines and tour operators were considering cancellations and contingency plans, with Orlando and Tampa airports due to close today and not expected to reopen until after the weekend.
