Jan. 17--Closing or selling Bangchak Petroleum Plc has been ruled out in favour of making a three-month study on the viability of consolidating the refinery's operations with those of Thai Oil Co.
The State Enterprise Policy Committee yesterday rejected options to close the refinery, sell the operation immediately or invite more private investment in the business.
The rejected options had been proposed by an advisory committee headed by Chai-Anan Samudavanija, a former chairman of Thai Airways International.
